Many aquarists choose a copper tetra for its spectacular appearance and unpretentiousness. It relates well to plants and other inhabitants of the aquarium and is a real decoration of the house.

Description

Copper tetra – a small fish long 3-5 cm. It has a slightly elongated and shrouded from the sides of the body, and its difference is the absence of a fat fin, while this is a characteristic sign of representatives of the Haracinovy, to which the tetra belongs. But this fish has excellent hearing due to the availability of the organ website between the inner ear and the swimming bubble, it is able to hear sounds in the range of 13 kHz.

The males have a colorful coloring in which blister-silver shades prevail. For females is characterized by more dull color, usually they are green-yellow. Content and care

In the natural medium, tetra eat small crustaceans and plants. At home, they are allowed to feed fresh or frozen live food or special aquarium. For this type of fish, it is recommended to buy and dry food in the form of flakes. The fact is that the tetra is powered by food floating on the surface of the water or lowered to the bottom, but if the food touched the soil, then the fish will not have it.

To preserve the purity of the aquarium and you need to buy food in the form of flakes, which will slowly settle on the bottom, and the fish will have time to enjoy. With the same purpose, any feed must be offered dosed.

Reproduction
